how can i improve my beginner drum kit?

Hi! ive been playing the drums for a while now.
i want to improve them because the ones i currently
own are for beginners. but i dont plan on spending much,
am i able to just switch the drumheads? or do i have to
purchase entirely new peices?

ive been playing drums for a while too. I am currently working on getting my 2nd kit. My 1st kit was 300 used. Ive put atleast $2000 into it with cymbals, heads, DW Double Bass pedals, and hardware. whenever u wanto change the heads, just take off the lugs, and remove the hoops and replace the head. put the head back on and tighten thhe lugs in a star pattern.
